Ubuntu Edgy and Atheros kernel modules (post-install)

The Edgy install successfully used my Atheros wireless card (Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5005G 802.11abg NIC (rev 01)) for my initial install, but couldn’t find the card after rebooting my machine. I found that I needed to install the
appropriate linux-restricted-modules package for my kernel. Once I had them installed:

ii linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17-10-generic Non-free Linux 2.6.17 modules on x86_64 gene
ii linux-restricted-modules-common Non-free Linux 2.6.17 modules helper script

I was able to load the ath_* kernel modules:

ath_pci 111656 0
ath_rate_sample 19200 1 ath_pci
wlan 238560 4 wlan_scan_sta,ath_pci,ath_rate_sample
ath_hal 220912 3 ath_pci,ath_rate_sample

and the wireless card was up and running.
